What we collect and why

When you request the newsletter, we store your email address, selected topic and free or planned Pro interest, consent version, request time, confirmation status and unsubscribe status. We use your consent to send the weekly briefing after you confirm your address. Choosing Pro interest in the newsletter form does not create a paid subscription. Buying Pro is a separate checkout, when available.

We keep delivery attempts, provider message identifiers and signed event records to operate reliable delivery and honour unsubscribe requests. Our legitimate interests are protecting the service, preventing duplicate sends and maintaining delivery records. Signup throttling uses a salted digest of your IP address in an hourly bucket, rather than storing your raw IP in our signup database.

Pro membership and payments

For a paid membership, we store your checkout email, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, price, payment-confirmed access period and subscription status to fulfil your membership contract. Stripe collects and processes payment details and manages recurring billing and cancellation. Card details do not pass through our site. We receive signed payment events and keep a minimal event ledger for reliable access updates. Buying membership does not opt you into the newsletter.

Requested sign-in emails are transactional. Single-use sign-in links expire in 30 minutes. Essential secure session cookies keep you signed in for up to 30 days; only hashed login and session tokens are stored. Signing out removes your current session. Expired tokens are removed during maintenance. Account and billing identifiers are retained while needed to deliver access, resolve support requests and satisfy record-keeping obligations, then reviewed for deletion.

Providers and storage

OpenAI Sites and its Cloudflare infrastructure host the website and subscription database. Resend processes email addresses and message content to deliver email and report delivery problems. Provider infrastructure may process information outside the UK; its contractual data-protection arrangements apply. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data. We do not sell subscriber information.

Retention

Confirmation links expire after 48 hours. Unconfirmed requests are removed after seven days during maintenance. Delivery and webhook records are removed after 90 days during maintenance. Confirmed subscription information is retained while you subscribe. Unsubscribed and suppressed records are retained to prevent future mail, until reviewed or removed following a verified request. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to resolve them and any related obligations.

Your choices and rights

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future newsletter sends; a message already in transit may still arrive. You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Browser storage and site measurements

Saved tools are stored in your browser on this device. Our hosting providers process request and security information and may provide aggregate visitor/page-view measurements. We have not added advertising trackers. Links to other products lead to websites with their own privacy policies.
